Mother Nature almost kept us from photographing this fun family session, but the Bumgarner’s were excited for their photos to be taken. Ryan admitted to me that they had not taken photos together since 2016, when their daughter Addison was only two years old. They wanted to take a chance and moved forward with our scheduled date despite the 50% chance of rain.
I’m so thankful they did because we had nothing less than perfect weather! The sun hid behind the clouds keeping it moderately cool for a summer day in North Carolina. We chose the Archdale Park at Creekside for this family lifestyle session which made it a great location complete with open fields, bridges, walkways, wildflowers, and swings.
I met Addison for the first time, a very curious 3-year-old, turning 4 soon. A bit shy at first, but soon she showed me her bright red painted toenails and gold jelly sandals. (Which I was a bit jealous of!) Her charisma and vibrant personality shone throughout the family session. Addison enjoyed repeating her favorite colors to us, pointing out all the dogs being walked in the park, and picking the purple wildflowers in the field. She entertained us all with her sassiness and curiosity to see what was around the next corner.
Ryan and Kirstin kept up with her every move and each flower she found!
They were such a sweet family to photograph! Towards the end of our time together, Addison may have negotiated her way to the swing-set, which is one of her favorite activities to do during the warmer seasons.
We snapped a few more frames of the family together swinging and then called it a “wrap” for the Bumgarner’s photo session.
